Educational Technology Coordinator (Long-Term Substitute)

The Northwest School is a college-preparatory, co-educational independent school near the heart of downtown Seattle. We offer a rich and challenging program to 470 students in grades 6 through 12, including 86 international students, most of whom are English Language Learners. We are seeking an experienced and versatile temporary (approximately early February through late June 2012) Educational Technology Coordinator to facilitate the integration of technology into the school’s curriculum and activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervising the computer lab.
• Supporting all teachers in their use of technology.
• Providing “helpdesk” assistance to troubleshoot or support all aspects of technology use as well as general assistance with faculty questions or issues.
• Working with IT department to research, purchase, and maintain educational technology assets.
• Providing leadership and assistance to faculty in determining how best to integrate technology tools into the curriculum.
• Collaborating in development of curriculum.
• Providing formal and informal technology professional development to faculty, including training on specific applications and protocols.
• Maintaining expertise on education and technology issues and applications and sharing this expertise as appropriate with faculty and students.
• Teaching (or team-teaching) classes as appropriate.
• Researching and helping to prepare web policies which govern faculty and student use of technology.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS (MA/MS preferred)
• Current Teaching Certification preferred
• Experience as a classroom teacher
• Experience as an instructional coach
• Significant experience with educational technology and a record of substantial achievement integrating technology into the classroom
